I have been playing bagpipes for nearly 20 years, first learning in a Dorset-based band. More recently, I have been playing with the University of Bedfordshire Pipe Band, England's top pipe band, and have competed in many major competitions with them. I play at many functions throughout the year including Hogmanay, Burns Suppers, St. Patrick's Day, weddings, parties, funerals and other special occasions (please see Performing page) and I also teach the pipes.
Particular career highlights include:
- A decade of The Scottish Tattoo, including solo performances in major UK concert venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
- Hogmanay celebrations in Birmingham's Centenary Square in front of 50,000 people
- Broadcasting on local radio for the Millenium celebrations in Salisbury
- Recording for Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees, the Royal Artillery Band and Warner's Holiday Camps
- Playing for England's Premier Pipe Band, the University of Bedfordshire Pipe Band
Watch and listen to me playing the smallpipes at The Scottish Tattoo, 19th April 2008.
